LSU running back Leonard Fournette rushed for 158 yards including an 87-yard touchdown while becoming the fastest player to 1,000 yards in a season in LSU history, which has played football since 1893.

Fournette surpassed the 1,000-yard mark on his 116th carry of the season in the 5th game.  The previous record was held by Charles Alexander who hit the mark on his 175th carry of the season.
