Vintage pair of Binoculars with the original monogrammed leather case. Item is marked on the left shoulder with "Carl Zeiss Jena" with the right shoulder marked "Deltrintem 8 x 30". Item is marked with a serial number of 1675071, which puts the manufacture date as 1935. Lenses on both sides exhibit no chips, cracks, breaks or mold. Binoculars exterior has been professionally cleaned and disinfected, with minimal intrusion to factory sealed and aligned body and optics. Focusing mechanism works perfectly and has been cleaned and lubricated. Body of the binoculars exhibits finish wear and loss of paint throughout, with binoculars exhibiting tarnish and patina consistent with age and very infrequent use. Body exhibits no cracks or breaks. Binoculars measure 4-3/8" top to bottom by 6-1/2" wide at widest extension by 2" thick. The binoculars retain their original strap and strap retainer clips
The binoculars retain the original leather carrying case with original neck / shoulder strap. Case is monogrammed "J.E. McConnel Jr London Canada". The case exhibits surface and finish wear and patina consistent with age and use with no rips, tears or holes. Strap is in "Display" condition exhibiting surface crazing and wear and one repaired break(as per photos). Strap would need to be shortened to eliminate the repaired breakage to be classified as "User" condition.
These binoculars are the holy grail for Birders. They are in excellent shape and function perfectly. It's certain that they were used very infrequently and were properly stored for the majority of their lifetime.
