Rare first edition of this Royalist pamphlet issued during the English Civil War, written by expelled Cambridge scholars and clergy defending their cause against Parliamentary commissioners. A companion in spirit to Mercurius Rusticus, it records the plundering of colleges, expulsion of loyal fellows, and desecration of chapels.

Attributed to Dr. John Barwick, later Dean of St. Paul’s. References: Wing Q156; Madan II, 1970; ESTC R21633. An important Civil War university tract, rarely encountered complete in its original form.
