CUSHING-FRIML. L'AMOUR-TOUJOURS-L'AMOUR
(LOVE EVERLASTING)
Catherine
Chisholm Cushing co-wrote
the English lyrics for the song:
"L'amour, Toujours, L'amour"
(which translates to "Love Everlasting"), a piece composed
by Rudolf Friml. The song originated from a 1922 musical comedy that
didn't fully materialize but was salvaged by Friml for publication as a
standalone piece.
Charles Rudolf Friml was a Czech-born composer of operettas, musicals, songs and piano pieces, as well as a pianist. After musical training and a brief performing career in his native Prague, Friml moved to the United States, where he became a composer.
