The Adafruit ESP32-S2 TFT FEATHER combines a Feather board with ESP32-S2 chipset with a 240x135 pixel IPS color TFT display.

This feather comes with a native USB and 4 MB Flash + 2 MB PSRAM, so it is perfect for use with circuitpython or arduino. Native USB means that it can pretend as a keyboard or drive. The integrated WiFi connectivity means that it is great for IoT projects. And as part of the Feather ecosystem, it can be expanded with the large number of Featherwing.

The ESP32-S2 is a highly integrated, power-saving, 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi System-on-Chip (SOC) solution, which now offers built-in native USB, as well as some other interesting new technologies such as time-of-flight removal measurements. With its modern performance and RF performance, this SoC is ideal for a variety of application scenarios in the area of ​​the Internet of Things (IoT), portable electronics and smart homes.

Please note that the Feather ESP32-S2 has a single-core 240 MHz chip, so it won't be as fast as ESP32S with dual core. There is also no Bluetooth support. However, we are super excited about the native USB of the ESP32-S2, which opens many options for advanced interfaces! This ESP32-S2-Mini module that we use on the Feather comes with 4MB Flash and 2MB PSRAM, so that you can, for example, huge JSON files parse and buffer!

The color TFT is connected to the SPI pins and uses additional pins for control that are not led to the breakout pads. It is the same display that you see here, with 240x135 pixels and is IPS, so you get bright colors from every angle. The backlight is also connected to a separate pin, so that you can regulate the backlight with PWM as desired.

The Feather has a second AP2112 controller for energy-saving use. The controller is controlled with a GPIO pin on the Enable line and can switch off the power supply for the Stemma QT connection and the TFT. There is also a separate power connection for the neopixel, which can be used to deactivate it for even lower peace flow. If all components are switched off and the ESP in the Deep Sleep is the current consumption of the TFT Feather.

Switch off the neopixel and the external I2C/TFT power supply in order to achieve the lowest calm power consumption.
