A lovely original lady's bonnet dating to the late 1870s to 1880s.
Created with a wire foundation, covered in dark cranberry shade soft  Velvet fabric, beautifully embellished with tight black glass seed beading in a lovely Victorian design and a large matching shade tiny looped silk taffeta ribbon Bow. Also a whimsical feather on the right side. This is a typical smaller shaped hat that is designed to fit laying on the top of the head. The Velvet neck strap is in very good condition. The interior black cotton has a Boston Label, see photos. There is very minimal wear to the outer and inner. I consider this lovely bonnet to be in overall very good condition. It approx measures 6" across x 7" high.
