The Sculpture is a "Picasso-like" figure. and is carved from a single stock of African Blackwood.   African Blackwood, scientifically known as Dalbergia melanoxylon, is a prized hardwood known for its exceptional characteristics and properties. The wood’s inherent beauty and durability make it an excellent choice for carving intricate sculptures, masks, and figurines that celebrate African heritage and traditions. The hardwood has a high luster finish, that can be very shiny if properly polished, which makes it very beautiful.  The statue is 26.5 inches high and approximately 4.5 inches wide. It is fairly heavy. It is highly polished and in excellent condition. I purchased the sculpture over forty years in Northern California.  It is unique and beautiful.
