SCARCE Mint Error - 2011 King James Bible £2 Two Pound Coin
A fantastic opportunity for collectors to acquire a scarce 2011 £2 coin with a distinct minting error.
With a mintage of only 975,000, this coin is one of the less common £2 designs to find in circulation. It was issued to celebrate the 400th anniversary of the first publication of the King James Bible in 1611. The reverse, designed by Paul Stafford and Benjamin Wright, features the text "In the beginning was the Word" as both printed text and a reversed block of type.
The Error:This coin exhibits a feature of interest to error collectors:
Misaligned Dots: As is common with £2 coins from this period, the ring of dots on the Queen's head (obverse) is slightly off-centre. As you can see clearly in the photos, the dots drift towards the rim on the lower half of the portrait.
Condition:The coin is in good, circulated condition, showing the expected light marks and wear for its age. The details of the intricate design and the error remain very clear and well-defined. Please examine the photos carefully to assess the condition for yourself.
