Consisting of 3 pieces--one mid-sized dresser jar, a long handled dresser mirror and a hair brush, this sterling silver art nouveau dresser set by the Rhode Island Silver Company Foster & Bailey depicts two lovers on a swing amid floral blossoms and leaves. Sometimes called Paul & Virginia, the pattern was introduced in 1905. Measuring 9.25" in length and 5.25" at its widest, the mirror is in very good antique condition with beautiful beveled glass and is signed on the side rim with the F&B hallmark Sterling and Pat'd 2028. Some minor denting along rim. The dresser jar with tightly fitting lid measures about 3" tall with an opening inner diameter of 2 1/2". The silver lid has a diameter of 3". The cut glass base has a starburst pattern on the base. The silver is signed on the rim bottom F & B hallmark Sterling and Pat'd 2064 It is in good condition with denting along the rim. In good antique condition with monogram, the hairbrush measures 9" x 3". It is signed with the same hallmarks sterling and Pat'd 2030 on the side rim. Since this set is over one hundred years old, it is not in new condition but has some denting and wear to silver., but it is a stunning nouveau repousse set for your dresser that is seldom seen.
