Vintage NeXT Computer Model N1000

For sale- a rare Vintage NeXT Computer Model N1000, part number 23 as pictured.  It has a model N3000 Optical Drive installed as pictured, plus the CPU board.  The other 3 slots are empty and there is no floppy drive.  What I don’t know is whether there is a hard drive remaining, I assume there is but that it has been wiped clean, probably inside the casing below the optical drive?

The computer does boot up as pictured, showing it has an MC68040 processor and 36MB of RAM.  It goes through a self test and reports Error 65, which I would assume to be related to the fact there is no operating system installed but I leave it up to you to determine what error 65 actually denotes.  Given the fact that it cannot be tested beyond what you see in the pictures and the fact it’s 30+ years old it is being sold for parts or repair only, and NO returns will be accepted.

Also please note that you are purchasing the Cube computer ONLY, other things in the pictures are there for test purposes only and are NOT included in the sale.  So no, you do not get a monitor or a keyboard or a mouse or any cabling, all of which will be offered separately.  I will, IF and ONLY IF you Buy It Now, include a NeXT branded AC cord.  The case is in good but not perfect physical condition, expect the usual scuffs and scratches.  One nick to the ribs on top, pictured, is probably the most egregious example of this.

All items are sold as is with no warranty offered unless one is specifically stated.  Any testing done will be explicitly stated in the listing and any accessory items will also be mentioned or pictured.  If it isn’t pictured or mentioned you can assume it is not part of the sale.

If the item being sold here requires a standard modular computer style AC cord I no longer ship those automatically on the theory that everyone has a box full of them already.  If you need one all you have to do is ask and it will be included in the sale.  IF you do NOT ask for one until after the item ships it is no longer part of the sale and I will not ship one separately.  And again, you only get a NeXT branded cord if you Buy It Now (and even then you should remind me).
