TRI-ANG MINIC JAGUAR XK120 PUSH AND GO BLUE PLASTIC MODEL WITH ORIGINAL BOX
Absolutely beautiful condition - with a working friction motor and motor sound.
The blue plastic bodywork is in near mint condition. Shiny & crack-free with its opening boot and locking handle (I believe it originally came with a couple of plastic suitcases). The GB and XK120 numberplate decals are mint and the cream painted tinplate windscreen is straight and rust free. There’s a rotating silver-painted steering wheel and grey plastic seats with a matching grey plastic removable roof. Front and rear bumpers and the grille are tinplate with metal grommets for headlights & tail lights and metal rod detail for the top of wing mounted side lights. The baseplate is black painted tinplate and the body is attached with the original melted plastic ‘rivets’. The motor turns via the wheels, makes a revving engine sound, and drives the model. It rolls on metal hubs with rubber tyres.

Previously listed as not working - until I realised that the reason the friction motor wasn’t working was because the flywheel was wedged on the underside of the bonnet. The acetate plastic used in the 1950s has a tendency to warp, and the tolerance between the top of the flywheel and the underside of the bonnet had closed up. Fortunately the base is tinplate and can be persuaded to move slightly, reinstating the gap between the flywheel and the body, freeing up the flywheel and unlocking the motor.
The original and model-matching box is intact with all flaps and tabs, still brightly coloured, with age-related creases.
