This key chain also has a “Secret Compartment” with a removable cap that exposes a handy hidden compartment.  This particular item was made from a beautiful piece of STABILIZED RED MALLEE BURL. A "burl" is an abnormal growth that typically grows on the outside of the tree and usually near the tree trunk. Since each "eye" of the burl could have grown into a tree branch, this causes the grain to grow in every direction at the same time. A burl typically also has bark inclusions, voids, as well as other things making it difficult to turn. A "stabilized" pen blank is injected with acrylic at high pressure which dramatically helps both the color and figure of the wood to POP! I am now using the Super Glue (CA Glue) finish for all of my Key Chains. This type of finish is extremely durable and will help keep your key chain safe from water, oil and the rigors of daily use. It takes a little longer to use this finishing method and costs a little more as well. However, the finish you have on the item when completed is very similar to acrylic and will last the life of the item with no problems. This is a versatile container that could hold emergency money (not included), toothpicks, medication, matches, or reminder notes. The interior has a food-safe finish; exterior has a Gold and Copper plated finish, providing a long wearing key chain that stands up to everyday wear and tear.  Key Chain has an overall length that measures 3 ¾” long not including the ring, and the base portion has a rough diameter of ⅝” wide.
