Book - Hungarian Motorcycles

This new 190 page hardback book with English text was published in 2010 in Hungary. It has 163 colour and 394 b/w photos. The book looks in detail at the history of Hungarian motorbikes from 1905 right through to 1975.

The chapters of the book look at motorcycle manufacturers of inter-war Hungary - Meray, Meray-Puch, Meray-JAP, BMG, Nepmotor, WM, Csepel; models from the socialist era - Csepel 100/123/250, Berva mopeds, Panni mini-scooter, Danuvia 125, Pannonia TL/TLF/TLT/TLB, Pannonia T5/6/7/8/9, Tunde scooter, Duna sidecar, Motorkuli & Pille trailers, Pannonia P10/12/20/21. There is also 3 pages of colour badges & emblems, and 2 maps of Budapest & Hungary showing manufacturing locations,

A later chapter looks at Hungarian motorcycle racing, including circuit-racing, motocross, racing motorcycle models and biographies of famous riders. The final section looks at each model, with 1 page per model including at least 3 colour photos and a technical table of information. Many of the colour photos are taken of restored models, many of which are in the Maroti museum collection.

Overall this is a fascinating book for the motorcycle enthusiast, and is probably the first book published in English to look at Hungarian motorcycles.
