RICHARD TELFAIR
The Corpse That Talked
~ Monty Nash #2 ~

1960, Fawcett Gold Medal

MONTGOMERY NASH and his second explosive assignment!
In my business, you're lucky if death comes quickly. Torture is the usual method, slow and agonizing, because secret agents always have valuable information—valuable, that is, to the other side. It takes a lot to make one of us talk. We're a carefully chosen, highly trained, dedicated group of men.
We? We work for the Department of Counter Intelligence, an agency so secret you've probably never heard of it before.
My name is Montgomery Nash and I work in the European Section. That means I live in the back alleys, the forbidden byways of the cities whose names mean only good wine and romance to you. My associates are murderers, traitors, pimps, cheats and liars.
My life is in danger every second. Vy dearest friend may betray me. I can trust no one—not even the woman I have just learned to love.
