Dynafit's Ultra 100 has been one of their most popular all-around shoes for folks who wanted a bit more cushion. The outsole--featuring Vibram's signature sticky rubber lugs--is aggressive enough to climb the steeps and handle the sidehills, but well balanced to give a nice ride on smooth single track. Since endurance runs and ultra-marathons are all about energy conservation, the rockered sole supports efficient motion with each stride. Rocking plenty of cushion and a generous stack height there is still a surprising amount of trail feel. This is welcome news for folks who prefer more feedback from their shoes rather than running on a pair of squishy marshmallows.
