The rims are created through various rolling operations. Here, the material distribution is optimized by means of flow-forming (flow molding) and thus ultimately a further weight saving is achieved. Finally, the rim of a wheel is calibrated to very tight concentricity and axial run-out tolerances.
Both components are assembled and welded fully automatically. The manufacturing process for steel wheels is so precise that the raw wheel can go straight to the paint shop without any mechanical post-processing, in which it is always given a cathodic replacement primer and, depending on the vehicle manufacturer, a top coat. All ALCAR steel and hybrid wheels are 100% TPMS-Fit and an affordable and fully functional alternative to alloy wheels.
