Highly grown worldwide is for its spectacular color.
It prefers somewhat stony soils and limestone in cool mountainous areas.
To sow you should cold stratify for a minimum of 2 months, then leave the seeds one day to soak in water at room temperature and then sow in a seedbed with a sandy substrate that drains well in a sheltered, warm and bright place.
Germination is very irregular, it can be from a few weeks after stratification to several months if environmental conditions do not accompany it.
