From ca.1800 this is a post medieval hammered brass sheet metal Crucifixion medal from France, rare to find, in immaculate condition. a beautiful medal. approx. 31mm or  just under 1 1/2 inch with bale. Comes from an old South German collection probably made close by in Strasbourg

These medals are used for prayer as a shield or a protection against evil... this one is very old. over 1 inches long and is in very fine condition.
