The woofer will need a recone to function properly.

I could not get a stable (solid) ohm reading on this speaker, and it fluctuates as you gently move the cone up and down.

I removed the dust cap and the surround to investigate, and did not see anything as far as damage.  This model had the cloth surround.

When signal is applied (from a signal generator) it does make sound, so it is *** possible **** that a new surround/dust cap will solve the problem, but I think a recone is needed.  The price reflects this.
