The establishment of a technical playing style, advances in instrument manufacturing technology, and the never-ending demand for light and easy-to-carry guitars have already created many headless guitars, some of which far surpass classical guitar designs.

However, Ibanez believes that there is still more potential in this field despite these advances. And this Q (Quest) series is the new headless guitar option that Ibanez has prepared. Of course, this is a new quest (Quest) to develop a completely new guitar from scratch, rather than making an existing model headless or assembling a collection of headless parts.

We have studied the playing styles of various players and pursued uniqueness and originality in everything from parts such as pickups, bridges, and string locks to the design of the body. The Q was born in this way, and it is a headless guitar that satisfies the insatiable spirit of exploration of guitarists who continue to pursue their own possibilities regardless of genre.

Ergonomic body design
The body is characterized by contouring and cutting throughout to suit various playing styles. The complex yet sophisticated design promises the best playability.

Compact and light weight, yet resonant body
Despite being a solid body, it is surprisingly lightweight and compact. However, it does not lose its full, warm, woody tone.

Nyatoh body
The body material is Nyatoh wood, which has excellent full mid-low range characteristics.

Wizard C 3pc Roasted Maple/Bubinga neck
The standard neck shape is not too thick or too thin to accommodate various playing styles. The 3-piece structure of roasted maple and bubinga wood provides excellent stability and durability.

Roasted Birdseye Maple fretboard
The fretboard is made of roasted birdseye maple, which has a unique pattern resembling a bird's eye and is heat-treated. The heat treatment process removes excess moisture and oil from the wood, increasing its strength.

Jumbo Stainless Steel frets
The frets are made of jumbo-sized stainless steel. They are easy to maintain, have a fast sound rise, good separation when playing chords, and clear sound when playing notes.

"R1" S-S-S arrangement pickups
The S-S-S arrangement of the single-coil pickup "R1" developed for the Q. It is designed to have a balanced sound across the entire frequency range, making it easy to create sounds with effects, etc. The low range has a tight sound without any muddiness, and the high range has a bright, clear sound that is not harsh. It also has little noise and is a great match for both digital and analog effects.

dyna-MIX8 switching system with Alter Switch
With a single mini switch, you can freely switch between humbucker mode and single coil mode, allowing you to play eight different sound variations. Humbucker mode is a mode that simulates the humbucker pickup sound by connecting two single coil pickups in series. This switching system is for modern guitar players who have to play multiple roles with limited equipment.

Custom string lock
Ibanez's newly developed Custom string lock has a simple one-piece structure. It is durable and easy to replace strings. You can also use your favorite gauge and brand of strings without needing special strings.

Mono Tune bridges
The intonation can be adjusted to a wide range, making it easy to set tuning down one tone or more. The string height can also be easily adjusted. The number of parts that make up the saddle has been reduced as much as possible, achieving a natural sound that allows the sound of the guitar body to live.
