inventory # MR/2512-6                                     DESCRIPTION

Vintage Art Deco black bakelite desk telephone dating from the 1930s. This classic design and shape vintage art deco telephone was made in the USA by Kellogg. It is a Kellogg Model 925 known as the ashtray phone due to its spherical indentations on the base under the mouth and earpiece. Has a spit cup style mouthpiece. Cloth cord with modern wall plug.

The mouthpiece is marked| KELLOGG SWITCHBOARD & SUPPLY COMPANY CHICAGO U.S.A.

I plugged the phone in, and it rings and can receive incoming calls and talk to the calling person. But when I dial out the operator comes on and says, "call cannot be completed as dialed", as the rotary dial works slowly so I think the numbers are not inputting fast enough. I would think the dial can be lubricated to rotate normally, but I don't want to mess with it and maybe damage it.

The phone is in excellent condition, there are no cracks or chips, the numbers and letters are sharp, but the rotary dial moves slowly.
