■AUTO CHORUS - The AUTO series combines classic pedal design with the world of modular synthesis
The AUTO series combines classic pedal design with the world of modular synthesis, and goes beyond the boundaries of audio processing evolution.
With every AUTO series, the nuances of your playing become part of the "sound effect" element. The choice of TOUCH, DYNAMICS, and NOTE influences the sound, creating tones and textures that respond to your playing and change in real time.
Sound design through the AUTO series takes your musical expression itself on a journey of discovery and surprise.
Designed for artists who explore their own unique sound, the AUTO series combines intuitive simplicity with depth. Every turn of the knob opens up a new world of creative and experimental sounds that you have never seen before. Dive into the depths of your creativity and discover new sounds that go beyond the everyday.
AUTO CHORUS offers three rich and warm modulation effects: chorus, ensemble, and flanger.
CHORUS
A classic simple chorus effect that mixes a delay and pitch-shifted signal into the dry sound. For a pure vibrato effect, set the LEVEL KNOB MODE to MIX, the LEVEL knob fully clockwise and the FEEDBACK knob fully counterclockwise.
ENSEMBLE
A richer version of Chorus. This algorithm mixes three slightly offset and pitch-shifted signals into the dry signal. This makes the internal modulation rate less noticeable than the CHORUS algorithm, even at higher DEPTH settings.
FLANGE
Shortens the delay of the chorus effect, achieving a typical jet engine-like effect.
CONTROLS
RATE
Adjusts the modulation range from 0 Hz to 819.16 Hz. When fully counterclockwise, the pedal stops modulating the delay line and is fixed at a static delay time controlled by the DEPTH knob. With RATE set to 0, you can dial in different comb filter sounds with the DEPTH knob.
DEPTH
Adjusts the modulation depth. The lowest counterclockwise setting is zero modulation depth, which applies a constant, short delay to the wet signal (CHORUS and FLANGER are delay-based effects). Even with zero modulation depth, you can still shape the wet sound using the FEEDBACK control.
FEEDBACK
Adjusts the level. Higher settings introduce a metallic, resonant character that depends on the selected algorithm. At maximum settings, the effect goes into an infinite feedback loop.
TRACK TEMPO AND MODULATION SHAPE
AUTO CHORUS takes an innovative approach to tap tempo functionality.
TRACK TEMPO
When you hold both footswitches simultaneously, the pedal uses its dynamic tracking function to detect the tempo of your strumming and sets the value of the RATE parameter accordingly.
MODULATION SHAPE
Offers three different modulation shapes (SAW, SINE, RAMP).
Find the sweet spot
Each of the four main knobs has a small modulation knob (attenuverter) that allows you to adjust the amount and direction of modulation for each effect knob. This allows you to modulate the value in any direction +- according to the input level. Find your own nuances, from subtle parameter changes to bold modulation.
Craft your modulation
Customize your modulation using the dynamics, pitch knobs and dedicated mode switch. Adjust the decay time of the dynamics, add glide to the pitch tracking, or shape the response to suit your playing style and the modulation effect you want.
By pressing both footswitches, you can set the pitch of the note you play as the threshold. For example, if you set A3 as the threshold, the PITCH modulation will only be active if it exceeds A3. In the same way, the threshold of the dynamics can be adjusted. Modulation will only occur when the input is greater than the set value. It is possible to create unique modulations with simple operations.
Automation Basics
Each pedal has two onboard automation sources that generate automation signals based on specific parameters of your performance.
Dynamics Engine: Follows the volume of your instrument, the strength of your picking and the overall dynamics of your playing.
Pitch Engine: Follows your note selection and the overall timbre of your instrument.
You can route these automation sources to the four main effect knobs using a simple patchbay interface.
Each pedal also features four corresponding smaller knobs (attenuators) that determine the amount and direction of the automation signal.
The AUTO footswitch engages the full automation section, allowing you to easily switch from standard effect modes to pre-routed automation settings. For shaping your automation, you can precisely calibrate both the dynamics and pitch tracking engines, indicated by LED lights in the patchbay.
Additionally, you can customize your automation with the dynamics and pitch knobs, as well as dedicated switches with three different modes on either side of the automation. This allows you to tune the response curve to suit your playing style and the automation effect you desire.
This feature allows you to get a wide range of touch-sensitive effects that are orchestrated in real time by the nuances of your playing.
From subtle and sophisticated settings to ambitious experimental sounds, the AUTO series is a platform that offers endless possibilities.
