Born in Tochigi Prefecture. Started studying Japanese painting around 1953, and began self-taught printmaking around 1955.
Exhibited Japanese paintings at the Shinseisaku Association Exhibition in 1957, and his first exhibition at the Japan Print Association Exhibition in 1960.
Since 1966, his main activities have been exhibiting copperplate prints at the Shunyo-kai Exhibition and the Japan Print Association Exhibition.
He held his first solo exhibition in 1967. He exhibited series of works such as birds, pigeons, shells, and villages of houses, incorporating his own unique emotions into the lonely homes of people.
