  • This elephant is in 2 pieces – the head is glued on to the elephant’s body.
  • Both the head and body are leather. Eyes and tusks have been painted on. There is a bit of tool work to shop elephant’s body features.
  • There is a blue-painted wood bar stapled to the back of the leather that says BRONX ZOO.
  • The entire piece measures 2-1/4 inches across x about 2-1/2 inches in total height.
  • Condition is fragile on parts of the elephant. The pinback doesn’t stay closed entirely.
  • There is a blue circle on the back that is covering the staple and it is barely attached to the leather. There are some stains. Some of the paint is worn on elephant’s eyes and tusks.
  • The pin itself is glued on and is in plastic.
  • All in all, this is a great souvenir from the iconic Bronx Zoo!
