Book Description
In the 1880s when Adolphus Goss, with little encouragement
from his august father W. H. Goss, first realized that by applying a crest of a
tourist center to one of the small white porcelain pots made by the Goss
Pottery he would produce the perfect quick selling souvenir, it could never
have occurred to him that he would start a craze.
This pristine miniatures made by the Goss works in porcelain
were quickly copied by others in bone China and earthenware and it is the study
of the wares and histories of these often less worthy but colorful competitors
that has lead to the writing of this book.
