Details
An antique Brown-Westhead, Moore & Co. rimmed pie dish or serving bowl, decorated on the upper surface with a slate blue print of gooseberries on the bush along with two flies. The sides are decorated with prints of currants on the bush, plums on the branch and a floral design. The underside has an impressed factory mark and a registration kite, showing that the design (presumably the shape, not the pattern) was registered on 25th September 1868. I'm not sure if this is from their Pomona range but it is very similar.

Size
Height 2½" / 6.4cm;
Length 12½" / 31.8cm;
Diameter 9¾" / 24.8cm.

Condition
There are several nibbles to the glaze along the edge of the rim, along with a shallow chip. The interior also has minor wear, with a few tiny discoloured pinpricks to the glaze. Other than these flaws, the dish is in good condition, free of glaze crazing, cracks or repair and displays well. I wouldn't imagine that too many of these have survived, even with imperfections.
