The Ginkgo Petrified Forest State Park in Washington State showcases a diverse collection of petrified wood.  The types of wood found at the sight include Ginkgo, Spruce, Elm, Walnut, Fir, Redwood, Sweetgum, Maple, Horse Chestnut, Cottonwood, Magnolia, Madrone, Sassafras, Yew, and Witch Hazel
