Better with age: black garlic benefits

Garlic is good for your heart. One of the reasons for this is a compound called S-allyl-cysteine, or SAC. Aged garlic extract, which is a source of S-allyl-cysteine, has been clinically studied to support heart health, but it’s found in relatively small amounts in raw garlic (so you can’t count on your pesto to offer these benefits).
