DESCRIPTION:  Here is an uncommon mid 19th century hand painted porcelain Jacob Petit figural scent bottle in the form of a Turkish female from the Ottoman period. The figure is wearing a green cape with applied raised gilt dots, a deep red under garment also with gilt raised dots and another shape. The trousers are in a yellow ground with a gilt circle and dot pattern. It also has a cross around her neck and a yellow and gilt belt. Marked to the base with a blue painted J.P. to the base. Dates to c1840 to 1860.
This is a more uncommon size and is a proper scent bottle rather than the much bigger sizes which are more commonly seen.

SIZE:  The scent bottle measures 6 inches (15 cm) high.  Weighs 220 g before packing. 

CONDITION:   There are no chips cracks or restoration. It does not have the original stopper. There is some gilt ware to the bottom of the red under garment which is where it has been picked up over the years. Also some gilt ware to the turban and there is evidence that there was gilding around the base.
