Here is a great example of an old Star Egg Crate / Carrier for 12 eggs. The crate has a very nice patina to the wood. 

Measures approximately 8 1/4" x 6 1/2" x 2 3/4" in height without the wire handle.

Three of the eggs are the old glass eggs and the others are real eggs which have been blown out decades ago. The one with the flower had a hole on the top, thus the flower was added.
