This is a brand new BOLT ON Mustang II front end crossmember for your 1947 1948 Chevy Truck.  This cross member is specific for your Chevy Truck, it is not just a universal.  This cross member is the building block for starting a Mustang II conversion on your classic Ford car.  This bolt on kit features:

  • Completely bolt on - no welding required
  • Complete with bolt in boxing plates to reinforce the frame
  • Interlocking design
  • Ride height will be approximately 4" lower than the stock front end
  • Threaded adjusters to fine tune your final ride height
  • This crossmember requires full lower tubular A-Arms (strutless style). Stock A-Arms that use the strut rods will not work with this crossmember.
  • For best results, only use this crossmember with a power steering rack

This is a great price for a great quality piece.  These are recommended for builders only, no installation instructions are included.  Please remember, you are working on a 60+ year old truck.  This crossmember is designed to fit very well, but on something this old, not every bolt is going to line up perfectly.  Some fine tuning and adjusting will probably be necessary.
 

Notes: This bolt in unit is ONLY made to fit a 1947 1948 Chevy 1/2 ton and 3/4 Pickup chassis. Inside dimension at axle centerline is 23-1/2", outside is 28". This frame is slightly tapered to the front. Standard MII spindles will set pin at 1/2" below frame rail and 2" drop will set it at 1-1/2" above. Track width is standard 56-1/2" depending on which brake kit is used.
