Northumberland by James Duncan 1833

Copper engraved map with hand colouring.  

James Duncan (active 1820-33) was a London book and map publisher active in the first halve of the 19th century.  In 1833 he published 'A complete atlas of England and Wales'.  The maps were originally drawn by William Ebden for publication in 1828, but were modified to include the new political boundaries bought about by the 1832 Parliamentary Reform Act.  This map is from a copy of this atlas.

Page size is 50cm by 40cm.  
Map area is in good condition for age, engravings are clear. Some browning and shadowing marks from the opposite page ink. Small repairs to the fold.  Hand colouring.
Blank on the reverse.
