USAAF WWII faded National Insignia 20 inches 30 inches 35 inches 40 inches 45 inches 5 styles
From the manufacturer:
USAAF insignia, when applied at the factory repair shop consisted of Red, White, and Blue markings but these faded with prolonged exposure to the sunlight in hot climates.
Some pilots, with battled experience, had the White areas of their aircraft's insignia dulled with Grey paint to make them less conspicuous in combat.
When the White bar and Red surround was added to the cockade in June 1943, some pilots in the China, Burma, and India Theatre deleted the red border, as Japanese aircraft wore predominantly Red markings, thus avoiding possible confusion in aircraft recognition during combat. Some P-38, P-40, and P-47 aircraft are known to have carried these unique markings.
Due to difficulties experienced with the Red surround to the Star and Bar, this order was changed, and an Insignia Blue surround was substituted from September 1943.
With the application of D-Day markings, in the European Theatre of operations on June 6th 1944, many natural metal P-47 and P-51 aircraft had a narrow unpainted area surrounding the fuselage insignia, separating them from the Black and White invasion stripes. Decals are included to represent this effect.

It is an older release so the package may have signs of shelf wear such as minor creases/scratches or price tag residue. I tried to take the best pictures possible to show the condition. Please examine all of the pictures, as they are part of the description.
