Osram PL530 OPSL Laser 532nm Single Frequency SLM Pre-Soldered Tested 100mW

These are incredibly tiny OPSL lasers made by Osram. They are about 14mm long, 7mm wide and 4mm tall yet contain an 808nm pump laser diode, pump collimating optics, OPS gain chip, SHG crystal with heater and associated mirrors. One of the pictures shows the insides but you will receive a new, sealed unit. These were made for use in a small laser based video projector. Check my store for a complete RGB laser light engine that utilizes one of these along with red and blue diode lasers.

These are among the best performing modules from the lot of 100 new units I have. I have soldered a connector to these modules and include a short cable with the mating plug. I have also tested each module individually and guarantee that they are able to produce at least 100 mW SLM with a diode current less than the max and SHG temperature tuned correctly. Wiring is red=LD anode, black=LD cathode, blue/yellow=SHG heater. Yes, that's a little blob of hot glue between the connector and the module which makes the connection much stronger. You still need to be careful when plugging or unplugging the connector.

These require a laser diode driver capable of producing up to 500mA with a compliance voltage of around 2V. The SGH heater is a PTC resistor around 30 ohms. In testing here I found that a constant voltage between 1.8-2.8 volts works well to control the heater. The optical output power is very sensitive to the SHG temperature so it needs to be adjusted carefully and held stable. When adjusted correctly, these operate single longitudinal mode with enough coherence length for holography. 

These don't generate a lot of heat (about 1W), but still need to be attached to a heat sink to stabilize the temperature. I'll include a piece of double-sided thermally conductive adhesive that can be used to attach the module to a heat sink.
