From first hand experience on a 2011 Silverado, this combo works great!

The instructions for the STL-6L80E highly recommend cleaning the upper valve body while you're there (valves included in kit are for lower VB section).

Mine was okay I thought, but once I removed the valves and springs from each bore, it was obvious why they do.

All of the valves bores were grey in color from converter/clutch carbon dust.  I used 3 of the 4 Bench Buddy brushes (with a slow speed drill) and then they were spiffy clean.  Most importantly, after hosing off with brake clean and making sure the bores were sparkly, the valves moved much more freely than they did when I thought they were okay...

The STL-6L80E includes two o-ringed end plugs for the improved Clutch Select valves' bores, I could and did use (5) of the (6) o-ringed 6L8-VBPLUGS on the others.  

Once I got her all back together, I drove around the neighborhood going through repeated shift cycles. 

It got better and better each time.  Very happy with it now so I thought I'd put together a combo.  It shifts like it is supposed to but never did: Quick/crisp shifts, not at all firm/bangy.
