An attractive & desirable copy of the scarce first printing of Mann's classic study of alcoholism. Mann herself was an alcoholic, & she achieved long-term sobriety through Alcoholics Anonymous. She organized the National Committee for Education on Alcoholism in 1944 & traveled across the U.S. educating medical professionals, legislators, businessmen, and the public on the importance of treatment and education of the fatal disease of alcoholism.
