TAGUA EARRINGS. The lightness of natural tagua makes her incredibly comfortable to wear, perfect for making a stylish yet subtle statement. These earrings are a piece of wearable art, a blend of function, design, and respect for our environment. Made with tagua from the rainforest of Ecuador with a wood coin top and stainless steel post.
TAGUA BELLA is designed by me in collaboration with the talented artisans in my region of Ecuador. Each is artisan-made by hand. TAGUA BELLA is fair-trade, purchased from the maker, and making a difference in their lives.
Tagua is a nut from a palm tree, found only in South America. Most is found in Ecuador, in my Manabi region along the coast. It is commonly called vegetable ivory. It is so close in makeup and appearance, it is difficult to distinguish from animal ivory. Gathering the fallen tagua, has many benefits economically and naturally sustains the rainforest. It causes no harm, unlike the cruel world of sourcing animal ivory.
Each is unique and will vary slightly from photos. Tagua has natural shapes and sizes. Please allow for slight differences that are not flaws.
