there are some weaving mistakes on these handmade ikat pillow covers.

on these 3 ikat pillow covers, the ikat part is not one complete piece, it is made out of four ikat pieces.

some imperfections in the pieces should be tolerated due to being handmade.
imperfections reflected in the price.

The handloomed silk and cotton ikat i used for these pillow covers is brand new and it is from Central Asia - Uzbekistan.
They are neither print nor paint, they are traditionally hand loomed ikat fabric.

I used natural linen with best quality for backing these pillow covers and the woven parts are all lined with felted interface fabric.

IKAT :
These are warp-faced plain weave silk warp, cotton weft ikats. Ikat is a style of weaving that uses a tie-dye process on the warp threads before the threads are woven to create a pattern or design. In Central Asia the practiced type of ikat is warp faced Ikat since they do not make any DOUBLE Ikats in which case both the warp and weft threads are tie-dyed. Ikat weaving can be a laborious process since it requires a multi process of tying and dyeing carefully.
