For the unaware, promo versions of games are issued in small numbers directly by the publishers to retailers and reviewers slightly ahead of the official release of the game in the actual shops. They are the full game and the contents of the disc itself is identical to the one you would find in any shop. Promo games are thought only to be printed in batches of 500 (some far less down to 20 copies, which can make them a target for collectors of particular titles. They do not come with separate manuals or cases. Some promos come with inlays and some do not, it depends entirely on the publisher in question.
