This is a Thorens movement Music box with wood insert with divider for cards or cigarettes. It looks like a Fred Zimbalist music box.
The back interior panel has an Arabic character and numerals 537 painted in black.
The movement cover panel is a scene of religious (?) building and an interesting tree with a beautiful bird sitting on a branch.
The landscape has florals bordered by three leaf bunches (shucks) framing the scene.
This box does not have the disc player movement. Instead, its movement is a single tune and appears to be overwound.
Approximate dimensions: 7 1/2" x 5" x 3 3/4" Tall
There is a broken metal fastener (upper left corner of inside of top), and you can see in the photos, the panel was removed to show the signed Thorens movement. The other imperfection is the hinge pin sticks out a bit on one side (see photo).
