Create a reliable transition between ABS and PVC elements of your piping systems with Weld-On 10274 794 Green ABS-PVC Transition Solvent Cement 1 pt. Specifically designed for use on ABS-to-PVC transition joints in non-pressure systems, this pipe cement is compatible with pipes and fittings with an interference fit up to a 6-inch diameter and suitable for all classes and schedules of rigid ABS and PVC (except Schedule 80). The ABS and PVC cement excels across a range of applications, creating high-strength joints for DWV (drain, waste, and vent) systems, sewers, and electrical conduits. And thanks to its medium-bodied viscosity and fast relative set time, this solvent cement applies smoothly and sets quickly to facilitate efficient ABS and PVC welding. It is intentionally colored green, so the proper use of the cement can be easily verified. Transition cement may not be approved for use inside a building--consult local code. Apply primer only to PVC material. Do not apply primer on the ABS side of the transition joint. CAUTION: Where the fitting is ABS, take special care to avoid puddling excess cement inside the fitting. When joining similar piping materials (PVC to PVC, ABS to ABS), use cements specifically recommended for that purpose to obtain good compatibility, high joint strength, and long-term durability of the system, as well as to maintain certification of the pipe installation per local code.
