Superb quality vintage Tane Orfebres Mexico / Mexican sterling silver caster or shaker circa 1950-60’s. Stamped on the bottom: Tane, Mexico, Sterling, Eagle mark 134 with AR (inside a circle). This caster is designed in a classical form in the style of English or Portuguese pieces from the early 1700’s. Tane Orfebres located in Mexico City has been a prominent silver house since the 1940’s. They made and sold fine silver work including hand wrought reproductions of some of Mexico’s most famous pieces. Measures approximately 7 1/4” tall and weighs 212.3 grams.
