Original etching  53 x 41 cms. Represents the interior with decoration and coffer  of the Honour and Virtue temple at Rome. This temple was buily in the S III A.C by Quinto Fabio Maximo ( 234 a.c ) and was refurbished by Vespasianus and was demolished in the late Antiquity at the end of IV century. Francesco Piranesi ( 1758-1810) studied and designed the ground plan and profiles of the temple but he was misleaded as the temple represented in the engraving is the temple of Ceres and Faustina  S II D.C. dedicated to Apia Ania Regila the wife of Herodes Aticus and teacher of Emperor Marcus Aurelius.
