The Emerald Chess Men are the result of an intricate and time-consuming crafting process. Their gracefully rounded silhouettes demand precision hand-turning, with each individual piece shaped on a lathe by skilled artisans. Following this, the pieces undergo an ebonising process—a multi-stage wood treatment that spans several weeks—enhancing both their aesthetic and durability. This meticulous attention to detail makes the production of these chessmen far more labour-intensive than that of standard sets.

Beautifully weighted and finished with green flocked bases for a smooth glide and stable play, these pieces pair perfectly with this exquisite 16.75-inch chessboard. Handcrafted in Spain by the renowned Rechapados Ferrer, the board features striking walnut and maple veneers, set atop a high-quality billiard cloth base that cleverly doubles as the hinge mechanism.
