Christian Phalangists, who support ex-president Camille Chamoun, roll burning tires out of their houses to set tanks and vehicles afire. During the day, a coalition cabinet for Lebanon was agreed on, with acceptance by the Parliament expected Oct. 17th. It may end the five-month civil conflict in Lebanon. There are still 5.700 U.S. troops in Lebanon.
The 1958 Lebanon crisis was a political crisis in Lebanon caused by political and religious tensions in the country that included a United States military intervention.
