For sale today is the rare and out-of-print (oop) DC Comics trade paperback (tpb)/graphic novel Legion of Super-Heroes: The Great Darkness Saga by Paul Levitz and Keith Giffen among a host of other creatives, published in 1989.

    One of the greatest storylines in the Legion's history is collected in this new edition of THE GREAT DARKNESS SAGA. One of the deadliest forces of the DC Universe resurfaces in the 30th century, wreaking havoc on the Legion of Super-Heroes.

 

I am not a comics grader, but I try to be as thorough as possible when assessing books for any flaws. I don't believe in using a number grade system - to me they are mostly utilized as a method to be ambiguous about exact condition and/or individual imperfections - but I do attempt to describe anything other than minor cover shelf-scuffing/scratching in detail. If a certain flaw discussed below does not mention that it affects inside pages, then it does not.

This copy is in very good condition, especially considering its age, with a solid spine and excellent/bright overall inside pages with minimal levels of natural yellowing over time (photo#12 example). It has few and lesser signs of primarily external wear.



**Photo#4: 
-Upper spine corner: Light scuffing.

**Photo#5:
-Lower spine corner: Small ding where it meets the front cover, causes light ~1" indent/depression on adjacent front cover (photo#10 w/illumination). Small peel/tear where it meets the back cover.

**Photo#6: 
-Front cover top edge: Light/nearby/parallel ~5" indent starting near the spine corner on the cover. Edge itself has light if any shelf-wear/scuffing.
-Outer corner: Tiny scuff/bend, goes thru ~25 pages as a light bend.

**Photo#7:
-Front cover bottom edge: Light if any shelf-wear/scuffing.
-Outer corner: Small scuff/bend, goes thru ~2 pages as a light indent, and thru ~1/3 as a light bend.

**Photo#8: 
-Back cover top edge: Light if any shelf-wear/scuffing.
-Outer corner: Tiny scuff/bend, goes thru ~2 pages lightly.

**Photo#9:
-Back cover bottom edge: Light levels of shelf-scuffing along it.
-Outer corner: Tiny indent/scuff/bend, goes thru ~5 pages lightly.

**Additionally: Front cover possesses a very light ~1.5" scratch/indent near the title. Back cover has a very light vertical indent/curl/bend near the page edge (photo#11 w/illumination).
