47x 36 Original hand coloured copper engraving.Title page from the I volume of the Hancarville/ Hamilton magnum opus on the greek vases collection assembled by the british ambassador William Hamilton during his stay at Naples.

 The collection was subsequently sold to the Biritish Museum but some vases went to others collections . Hamilton and Harcarville´s magnificent work was that introduced in depth the greek aesthetic in decoration, furniture and decorative arts in England and continental Europe.
