This programme looks at the war that ravaged Europe. For the first three years Germany dominated the continent, beginning with the Blitzkrieg on Poland, Norway, Denmark, Holland and Belgium - to the fall of France. Followed by the long road back; when the allies went on the offensive and fought to free every inch of occupied Europe from Nazi rule, ending with the capitulation of Germany itself.
