Victor Brauner (1903-1966) is a well listed surrealist artist. He was born in Romania but spent much of his artistic life in Paris, France. Along with Dali, Bellmer, Magritte, Ernst, Tanguy, Lam and Matta, he is considered one of the foremost surrealist painters of the 20th century.
The artwork for sale is an original lithograph that was printed in 1947 (in an edition of 999) for the rare art book "Surrealisme en 1947". It is signed in the plate NOT hand signed. The artwork measures 7 and 7/8" high and 9 and 1/8" wide. Primary colors are orange, black, yellow, green and blue. The artist's signature and the date can be found in the lower left corner of the print (photo 4).
