SAAMMODELS: Here we have a 1/10 scale figure bust of a WWII "First Time Iwo Jime Flag Raiser" sculpted by Greg Girault. Based on publicly available photos of Cpl. Charles W. Lindberg in the Pacific Theater, he was one of at least 7 US Marines who raised the FIRST flag on Mt. Suribachi. Deemed too small to be seen across the island, a larger flag was raised later in the day leading to the famous photograph of the second flag raising. Cpl. Lindberg was born and raised in Grand Forks, ND but after the war lived in Richfield, MN. He passed in 2007.
Bust is in 12 parts (head, body, right/left arms, pistol/holster, 2 pouches, 2 canteens (one piece), bayonet/sheath, line for the flame thrower, and 2 straps for the helmet chin straps) and will arrive unpainted, un-built, and in need of some cleaning up. Pictures of built and painted models are for demonstration and posted with the permission of the builder/painters. Photos of the actual person obtained from the public domain for illustration purposes only.
These parts will be taken off of the printing supports for complete curing, but will require some sanding to remove the
attachment nubs. These are printed to order, so please allow 1-2 extra days after the order has
been placed.
Free shipping for the Contiguous Lower 48 states only. All others have to pay shipping cost.
These
were designed for a friend but are now being made public.
